Our Library

Dinas Powys Library and Activity Centre (DiPLAC) aims to be an integral part of the community. In 2016 we became volunteer-run and operate as a Charity Incorporated Organisations (CIO) overseen by Trustees. In 2019, phase one of our renovation project was completed which included an activity space (available for hire) and a coffee shop. Our intention is to maintain library services, develop new services, encourage access to literature and the arts and facilitate a wide range of community activities. Our activity venue is available for all
community groups. Our cafe is a great place to meet friends or just sit quietly with a book or magazine. We support local schools by providing work experience opportunities and access to reading schemes. For the future we aim to extend our opening hours and complete phase two of our renovation project which includes a new extension providing an outdoor space. This will require extensive fundraising and support to make it possible.
